May Heating and Air got its start in Aspinwall, PA  in the late 1940's when Robert May opened an appliance store called Bob  May's Appliance. The storefront, was located on 1st Street  and served the Aspinwall and surrounding communities. The store sold all household appliances and Sherwin-Williams paint.

The  appliance store closed in 1957 when Robert took a job selling air  coolers to Eat 'n Park restaurants.  It was during this time that  Robert's entrepreneurial spirit told him he should stay true to his  roots and start another small business. With the air cooler knowledge he  gained with Eat 'n Park, Robert May along with his son Bob May, founded  Bob May Heating in 1966. They carried Fedders air conditioning  products, before later becoming Lennox dealers.
